La Vida Purita

Bi-monthly money shortage. Liquid assets gone dry, all because of that-project-with-the-name-I-will-forever-forsake.

And so I went through January and February in a zombie-like state. I began staying in the office until midnight, sometimes until morning (if I feel like it). I work late hours because I don't want to work on weekends; late night-work, then, was my way of getting off weekend work.

Now because of all the deadlines for this project, which required us to make a presentation per week (for review daw), I totally neglected my sideline work, which is--take note--my real bread and butter. Without sideline work, I'd be getting my daily food allowance from selling empty ink cartridges at the crossing (or at the corner of Galle, whichever's most accessible). I've resisted getting help from mi familia, kasi ang layo nila. But I got a little help from my friends (i.e., free dinner at Tin's place and temp financial support from Jenix "The Loanshark/Madam" de Vera).

But all these are over now, since we're finished with that-project-with-the-name-I-will-forever-forsake. And pat me on my back, please, 'coz I just finished the major paper I was supposed to finish last Jan. Wooohooooooo!!!! Now I can live like....well, like I've got money again.

So now I'm busy working on another project, taking also a lot of rest before report writing begins again. Other pursuits have preoccupied my mind lately, and I hope this new pursuit in my poverty-filled life will succeed.

This humble pauper would like to thank the stars who made her universe bright and expanding:

AXN- Life is never this big.

Mama & sisters (3Marias)- who visited me at my kariton house under the flyover at Shaw. Who, after checking my ref for food, exclaimed, "ano ba yan puro gulay at tubig!!!" Well, who said I eat at the unit anyway? Go fast food! Go delivery! Go tira-tira!

Raffy-regular chatmate. Naughty girl. BI of all BIs. Yet she inspired me to pursue my new project :)

Tin-jogging mate. My "Safeguard" conscience, who kept me on my guard (safeguard?) all the time with her Golden Rule: "Do not count your eggs until they're hatched." (Tama ba?) Well, lola, my eggs're already hatched!!! (Eeewwwwww....) Hehehe!

Judy-ever-reliable friend, sasamahan ata ako kahit saan. Game na game kahit saan. Good luck with your "project," too.

CROI-kept me insane when I'm...insane :D Ah, I still can't forget the expression on their faces as I told them about my purita adventures (shaking head (side-to-side), half-laugh, half-tsk, tsk). Priceless, I tell you.

OTHERS- Food delivery guys (they're all guys, haven't seen a girl yet); ATM machines; Internet, Ate Lunch, Kuya Meryenda.

Special mention: Empty ink cartridge buyer at crossing. You know who you are. Thank you for redeeming us from starvation.
