Me, Sucker

PROLOGUE:
A sucker was born yesterday.

THE STORY:
She went to Megamall to buy an ironing board for her ironing chore that night.

But ooohhh, the ironing boards are heavy!

expensive! (especially the light ones!)

Images of her ironing clothes didn't help her decide whether to buy the cheap, heavy ironing board or the light, expensive one.

She went outside Ace Hardware. Walked around in a trance, when....

"Sir, Ma'am, maganda po itong produkto na 'to, kahit anong klase ng damit, napa-plantsa....!"

Then, DING! a light bulb short-circuited in Sucker's brain. Now she's a bona fide sucker.

Sucker approached the booth, marveled at the "magic" of the product called Steam Brush.

"Ito po'ng Steam Brush, Sir, Ma'am, e madaling gamitin. Konting tubig lang, hintayin lang po natin uminit ang tubig, pwede na pong gamitin. Ito po ang mga plantsa para sa mga nagmamadali..."

Sucker nods her head in agreement.

"...di na po kailangan ng ironing board, nakasabit lang po ang damit, pwede nang magplantsa..."

Sucker has just broken the record for most number of head nods in a second.

After asking too many questions (baka naman masira ang tela nyan?) (saan ba gawa yung plantsa at di natutunaw yung buttons kahit daanan?) and threatening the demo person (naku miss sigurado ka diyan sa sinasabi mo ha), Sucker bought the Steam Brush (iron), for a steamy price of Php 999.

Sucker. sucker. sucker.

Sucker went home and tried her newly-bought steam brush.
The steamy thing worked.
Her blouse looked well-ironed (and definitely better ironed than Sucker's previous attempts at ironing).

EPILOGUE: The morning after

A sucker was born yesterday.
Now, she realizes, being a sucker (sometimes) isn't that bad after all.

(The Steam Brush is now placed in a special spot in Sucker's bookshelf.)

And Sucker, Steam Brush and Stubborn-Crumpled-Clothes lived happily ever after.

THE END
