Sex movie title

Panalong banat/title for the day:

Diligan ng Suka ang Uhaw na Lumpia

(OK, guys, uwi na tayo. Malala na 'to.)

This song makes me want to cry

Try listening to this on a Friday night :(

Hanggang Kailan
Orange and Lemons

Labis na naiinip
Nayayamot sa bawat saglit
Kapag naaalala ka
Wala naman akong magawa...

Umuwi ka na baby
Di na ako sanay ng wala ka
Mahirap ang mag-isa
At sa gabi'y hinahanap hanap kita...

Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay
Na makasama kang muli
Sa buhay kong puno ng
Paghihirap
At tanging ikaw lang ang
Pumapawi sa mga luha at
Naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi...

Di mapigilang mag-isip
O baka sa tagal
Mahulog ang loob mo sa iba
Nakakabalisa
Knock on wood wag naman sana...

Umuwi ka na baby
Di na ako sanay ng wala ka
Mahirap ang mag-isa
At sa gabi'y hinahanap hanap kita...

Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay
Na makasama kang muli
Sa buhay kong puno ng
Paghihirap
At tanging ikaw lang ang
Pumapawi sa mga luha
Naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi...

Why's everyBODY thinking about SEX lately?!?

Ok, ok, I'll qualify that: why were Tin and Jonah thinking about sex this early in the morning?!?

Trust Jonah to welcome my morning with her psychological tests-cum-trivia(lities):

May question ako. Ano ang uunahin mo....

....nag-ri-ring na phone?
....umiiyak na baby?
....yung kumakatok sa pinto?
....yung sampay niyo kasi umuulan?

I chose no. 4, yung sampay niyo kasi umuulan.

The interpretations are in the comments section :)
No cheating!

bogchi, logtu

"Cantcha see I love you..."

On a more serious note (pun intended):

Baby, Now That I've Found You
Alison Krauss

Baby,
now that I've found you
I won't let you go
I built my world around you
I need you so,
baby even though
You don't need me
now

Baby,
now that I've found you
I won't let you go
I built my world around you
I need you so
Baby even though
You don't need me,
You don't need me oh, no

Baby, baby,
when first we met
I knew in this heart of mine

That you were someone I couldn't forget.
I said right,
and abide my time

Spent my life looking
for that somebody
to make me feel like new
Now you tell me that you want to leave me
But darling, I just can't let you

Baby, baby,

No, I'm not in love. (But I wish I am).
Maybe I am in love with the idea of me falling in love.

Bahay-bahayan

What's kept me busy this past week was my moving-in--to my new "place." You can call it a condo unit or a pad, but I prefer calling it my place--chez moi.

my not-so-girly-Spartan-like room

Friends have been telling me I'm finally living the independent life. Before, I used to think "independence" means simply having your own place, no curfews, and freely doing whatever I damn wanted to do. Surprisingly, independence is both a wonderful and scary concept. It is wonderful because you make your own decisions, but it is also scary because there is always the possibility that your decisions will not be the best ones.

Purita na ako ngayon. I've exhausted my financial resources, and borrowed some from my parents and tita, just to push through with Project Independence. But really, I only wanted to be independent from one thing: commuting. The tiring and sometimes irritating task of commuting was the main objective of this project (naks! research na research!). Also, I can now work fully on my research-writing, which I've somewhat neglected because of work and commuting.

Of course, chez moi is still a work in progress. Cable TV will be installed on Saturday, but I haven't applied yet for an Internet connection, which is actually the most important utility for me because of my research work.

Now, I must get used to the idea that:
1. I would be sleeping and waking up alone (not everyday, since I have my happy camper CROI friends as "transients");
2. I will wake up having no idea about the time of the day, whether it is rainy or sunny;
3. the only thing I'll know about my "neighbors" (other tenants) are their profiles (behind the curtains) and voices; and
4. I'll be working overtime at the office.

Bitten by the poetry bug (Tin's influence)

Because I have little time to rant or rave, but just enough time to cut and paste some of my favorite poems :)

Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes
(
Tin has J. Lacaba's Tagalog translation of this poem)

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Apology not accepted

Ok. But what really kept me busy this week was....

(to be continued)

Thursday, October 13

pasintabi

Chikachiks sa next time nating kitakits. (Baduy!)

Excellent singer

Riot makinig sa mga bakaw sa mikropono (attention: oldies!) na kumanta ng Delilah (my, my, my Delilah), Top of the World, at Dancing Queen.
